Parents

Smartphones are dramatically changing childhood. We, the parents of children growing up in this digital age, are facing what many are calling the toughest parenting frontier; the smartphone.

We began Screenwise Children because we felt the huge amount of research and information available now on just how negatively impactful smartphones are to children and adolescents, need sharing more widely and in a sustained way, with you, your children and their school, so that together, we’re able to make informed choices, support our children with their wellbeing and academic journey and hopefully even foster healthier phone habits ourselves.

First and foremost at Screenwise, we’re parents. Navigating this huge area is easier if we collaborate. School, home and children together with support from Screenwise Children.

What does the Screenwise process look like for parents?

We work directly with your school, delivering expert led workshops and talks, supporting them with systemic change within the school processes (like policy change and day to day removal of smartphones) and developing an in school Screenwise lead, so that future year groups will benefit from the continued learning and support.

Your school will benefit from 3 talks/workshops:

 teacher training

parent talk and q&a

interactive children’s workshop

FOLLOWED BY sustained support in the form of:

  • Policy and infrastructure change guidance and communication support
  • An internal Screenwise Lead
  • A “Screenwise School” Accreditation: A recognisable mark of your school’s commitment to fostering a healthy and safe digital environment
